JONATHAN KLEMENS, FSA SCOT
WRITER ~ AUTHOR ~ ANTIQUARIAN
WELCOME! Born the son of a Pittsburgh area steelworker, I grew up in a small , with sports, automobiles, rock 'n' roll, a strong faith, and an indomitable spirit. As an avid reader, I devoured the captivating works of Twain, Poe, London, and Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. I was educated in biology, pharmacy, and leadership & business ethics and trained as a black belt in martial arts. I soon developed a passion for writing historical fiction (inspired by James Michener) and essays on Celtic history and culture, sports medicine, alternative medicine, and ethics. I have published numerous essays and articles in local, national, and international publications, a college textbook, and on various websites. As a Director of Pharmacy, I made numerous presentations and lectures on alternative medicine to universities, health systems, corporations, and professional organizations.
I am also a member of Clan Gregor, the Historical Novel Society, and a Fellow of the Society of Antiquaries of Scotland. I enjoy an eclectic array of interests including Scottish history & culture, Imperial Russian history, Mark Twain & Edgar A. Poe, vintage baseball, photography, Swing Era music, Orthodox icons, and cultivating bonsai. Writing specialities include: Historical Fiction, Scottish/Celtic History and Lore, Alternative/Integrative Medicine, and Holistic Healthcare. I am currently working on a historical novel.
I also do freelance work - please contact me if interested.

I am honored to have my short story, MISSISSIPPI MUD, selected as a
handout to guests at the Mark Twain House & Museum, a National Historic
Landmark, in Hartford, Connecticut.
It's not the length of the journey - it's how you share the ride. -jk
