WELCOME! Born the first son of a Pittsburgh area steelworker, I grew up in a small town with baseball, football games, friends with fast cars (I drove a not-so-fast VW Beetle!), rock 'n' roll, a strong faith, and an indomitable spirit. I often reminisce about those carefree younger days in small town America.
As an young avid reader, I devoured the captivating works of Twain, Poe, London, O. Henry, and Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. My proximity to the community library, served me well. I’ve always loved to write; however, my writing career really began to take form after college with non-fiction works on Celtic history and culture, martial arts, sports medicine, alternative medicine, and ethics. I soon developed a passion for writing historical fiction (inspired by James Michener and Tom Clancy).
I have published numerous essays and articles in local, national, and international publications, a college textbook, and on various websites. As a Director of Pharmacy, I made presentations and lectures on alternative medicine to universities, health systems, corporations, and professional organizations.
I am a member of Clan Gregor and a Fellow of the Society of Antiquaries of Scotland. I enjoy an eclectic array of interests including Scottish and Imperial Russian history & culture, genealogy, Mark Twain & Edgar A. Poe, vintage baseball, nature photography, Shotokan Karate (Black Belt), and cultivating bonsai.
Writing specialties include: Historical Fiction, Scottish/Celtic History and Lore, vintage baseball, and Alternative/Integrative Medicine. I go wherever my imagination and creativity lead me. My historical fiction works are extensively researched to capture an accurate slice of history. I am currently working on a historical novel regarding colonial Williamsburg. I also do freelance work - please contact me if interested.
Live with indomitable spirit and chart a bold course,
I am honored to have my short story, MISSISSIPPI MUD, selected as a
handout to guests at the Mark Twain House & Museum, a National Historic
Landmark, in Hartford, Connecticut.
